I don’t know if this has been addressed (also I don’t know if it is directly Moffat?), but the short episode with the time loop just rubbed me the wrong way. There was a lot of “AMY. AMY WEARS SHORT SKIRTS. So no one can look at ANYTHING ELSE. EVER. Nope. And that driving instructor. NO THAT IS NOT CREEPY. That is just… [I don’t even know the justification for that. Maybe that it was funny? er.]” And just so much of that mini episode with the jokes were so wrong and not funny.

Yeah, those mini episodes basically just make me think of the following gif:
There was just…so much wrong with them. Between Amy passing her driving test because of her short skirts, and Rory breaking the TARDIS because he saw up her skirt, and the fact that Amy was flirting with herself in a way that basically just fetishized lesbians…
And of course, there’s what Moffat himself has said about the episodes:
Two episodes. Two mini-episodes. Very, very small episodes – maybe eight minutes in total, so that’s around four minutes each. It’s not a spoof. It’s in the style of the ones that we’ve done for Children In Need, so it’s taken seriously as a proper bit of Doctor Who – funny, but not a sketch. A little miniature story. One’s called ‘Space’ and one’s called ‘Time’, so they’re Space & Time. And there’s a moment with two Amy Ponds in it. If you’re a red-blooded male surely that’s enough! You’ve got Amy Pond flirting with herself.
So even if you tried to make an argument claiming that Moffat was being forward-thinking by having Amy explore her sexual identity, this pretty much destroys that claim. She was flirting with herself for all of those straight men in the audience.
Basically, it’s just one more awful example of Moffat being BLATANTLY sexist on Doctor Who. All of his mini episodes seem to take this approach, really. The ones featuring River (which I’m less familiar with) basically just turn her into the bitchy, jealous girlfriend trope…It’s really frustrating to see so many fans just laughing these things off as jokes.

The bold italic is mine, but frankly I just wanted to bold-italicize EVERYTHING because it is all so fucking true.
